Melbourne Monthly Madness – September 2013

Juuuust in time for the end of the month, as usual. I’ve been working on some very special projects here in Melbourne all of which I will be sharing over the next month!

September was another great month in Melbourne. As usual a bunch of shows and some of the best street art and graffiti from the streets. Enjoy!

Meggs painted one of his biggest ever murals on the the Fare Share building. Fare Share is a “good rescue” organisation, taking unwanted food and making into meals for charity. Nice work.

Some mad work in Collingwood by some of Melbourne’s most prolific writers, Bolts, Sauce and Kawps. More shots here.

I’ve posted a bit of DVATE’s work in the past. Here’s some more of his work on a recent trip across Europe (not sure who all the collabs are with). More here.

Paris and Peril are 2 of Melbourne’s original writers from the 80s and responsible for introducing some of New York’s wild style into Melbourne. These guys have been painting forever, but have never had a show together. What a celebration of their work. Many of the pieces were made from old photos of trains they’d painted over the years and touched up with markers.

Conrad Bizjack is one of my favourite artists in Melbourne. I only recently discovered his work and ever since I am more and more impressed every time I see him paint. His show “The Human Zoo” at Chaotic Gallery was fantastic and really showed off his unique style.

Drew Funk and Otis Chamberlain had their show at Backwoods “Coalescence”. Each artist has a completely different style so I was keen to see how they worked together, great results.

Shida and Two One painted this epic mural on the side of a rock climbing wall in Hong Kong. Personally I would have been freaking out up there, but despite the heights these guys pulled off a rad piece.
