There seems to be so much going on right now with street art being sold or auctioned off for charity and other good causes, so I thought I’d throw a few things all together in one post. Also, how great is it that Shepard Fairey is involved in so many of these things? See it all after the jump… Continue reading “Art for charity”
The above image by Fauxreel has just been released as a stunning print at Show & Tell Gallery. The 24″ x 16″ edition of 15 is available for $180. There is also a 48″ x 32″ version available which is a edition of just 3. That print is $1200 though, so I suppose that’s for Fauxreel’s super-fans. You can buy the print online at Show & Tell Gallery’s website.
This new Steve Powers print at Pictures on Walls is just awesome. It looks great (much better than his last print there), and it’s an edition of 300, so the price has been kept at a relatively affordable £99. Still available as of this post going live at Picturesonwalls.com.
If you like that new animation from Sam3, you’ll love his new prints at Studiocromie. I think these were available at Fame Festival, but now they are online too.
The set is an edition of 50 and is available online for 220 €. They’re a bit different from Sam3’s usually work in that they have two colors and there are lines instead of his usual drawings filled in completely in black, but I really like the first print (particularly because it reminds me of this piece Sam3 painted in San Fransisco).
Fans of Prefab77 are in luck as The BLDG has just released 7 hand-finished AP screenprints by Prefab77 on their website. The BLDG is one of my favorite screen print studios, releasing affordable quality screen prints from a variety of artists. Prefab77’s APs are available here.
Josh Keyes has just released a print at Tiny Showcase to raise money for relief efforts in Haiti. Totem II doesn’t come as a set edition, but instead will be for sale through February 2nd. Maybe it’s not a “collectible” print with such a potentially large edition size, but at just $30 ($15 goes to relief efforts), it’s a good deal for a great cause. You can buy the print online at Tiny Showcase.
Anybody looking for a free D*Face print? Look no further. Vandalog has one special edition of Very Nearly Almost issue #10 to give away. But more on that in a second.
Frankly, VNA is my favorite art magazine (yes, I like Juxtapoz, but it rarely beats VNA), in part because they get better with every issue. Issue 10 is a real milestone issue for VNA. There are the usual photos of street art in London and around the world, interviews with Shok1, D*face, Dalek and more, and other bits like product reviews. Basically, it’s the usual great mag for a price of just £4.
And about that D*face print…
VNA did a special promotion with D*Face for this issue. He designed the cover, and at the launch party they had a special edition of 150 screenprinted covers available. They also made just a few of those covers in a blue colorway (as seen above). That’s what I’ve got sitting on my desk right now, and it’s available for one lucky Vandalog reader who can answer this question: In what American state did D*face recently paint the “Ridiculous Pool”? Just email your answer to rj(a-t)vandalog(dot)com before Tuesday the 26th at 4pm London time. I’ll randomly select a winner from the people who answer correctly. This is a pretty unique opportunity, because only a few of these blue covers were printed, and they aren’t available for sale anywhere.
Oh, and if you don’t know about the Ridiculous Pool, here it is:
You can buy Very Nearly Almost in store or online.
This stunning piece from Bom.K is the latest print release at Gallery Nosco. The original canvas was shown at show The Shades of Things to Come in London and was one of the highlights of that show. Normally I’m not a fan of giclee prints, but I’m hoping that this turns out okay. The print is an edition of 25 will be available online from January 18th for £175.
The Jealous Gallery has a booth at the London Art Fair, which opens tomorrow (and closes on Sunday). I’m not sure about everything that will be at their booth, but two prints should be mentioned. First of all, Jealous were the folks who printed Hera’s lithograph of The Answer a few months ago for The Thousands, so there will be a few of those prints at Jealous’ booth. I think that they are selling the prints without my book, so the price will be a bit cheaper than usual.
They will also have a new print by Charming Baker called “What Beautiful Thing Life Turns Out To Be (Grey)”. Here’s what it looks like:
