DMV Crew Gets Together in Toulouse

I am always excited when I cannot read a press release in English, but since Da Mental Vaporz is one of my favorite crews, I had to deal with the difficulties of deciphering French. In Toulouse, GHP Gallery is closing its doors and as a last hoorah, all of the members of DMV ( Dran, Bom-K, Brusk, Sowat, Gris, Jaw, Kan and Iso) are coming back to transform the gallery. The show opens May 27th, so make sure to head down there.

And also, here’s a decent video for shits and giggles of the crew painting a massive mural at Supermassy last year.

Jonathan Levine Gallery hosts Gaia and Miss Van

Two new solo shows open next week at Jonathan Levine Gallery in New York that I could not be more excited about. The first is a solo show by Miss Van entitle Bailarinas, which I believe means “dancers” in Spanish. The second is Gais‘s Succession. Both will open simultaneously on May 26th for the gallery’s private reception.

Julian Kimmings Hidden Meaning

Street and fine artist Julian Kimmings latest solo show will open in London at the K West spa in Sheperd’s Bush on May 17th. Teaming with the curatorial team at Laura Mcnamara, the show will feature Kimmings latest body of work of realistic portrait style women. I was first introduced to him at Moniker and fell in love with some of his past canvases online, so I am pretty excited to see his work in person.

If you want to attend the private opening on May 16th from 530 – 7pm e-mail laura@lauramcnamara.co.uk to be on the list.

Credit Confidential tries to do Blu

My friend sent me over this video for some bank advertisement. Looks like some young hot shot animator liked Blu, because they took the stop animation look a bit too far in his likeness. Well, except that a- this isn’t real and b- no one really compares to blu and his more than 1 million views on videos attest to that.

Ted Mikulski Tweets

A reader sent these photos in of artist Ted Mikulski‘s work. Based in Connecticut, Mikulski mixes text, street and concept art that makes for cheeky pieces that create a dialogue with the audience and their environment. These works specifically use Twitter as the source of conversation, but put it in it’s correct context by connecting each “tweet” with the situation they are referring.
