Banksy hits Glastonbury

No official confirmation yet on Banksy’s website, but this sure does look like his work. It appeared at Glastonbury, where Banksy has worked a few times before.

I know there are a lot of people out there who are fed up with all the Banksy-hype and craziness out there. I am too. But after spending just a few weeks not thinking about Banksy at all (besides this post), I’ve gone back and looked at this website. He’s actually kind of clever. With Banksy being so active outdoors lately to promote Exit Through The Gift Shop, some people, myself included, were just sick of him. For me at least, I’ve discovered that I wasn’t so much sick of his work, just the hype. The work on it’s own, that’s as strong as ever. Don’t believe me? Have a look.

More interesting are the mini ninja!

Basically someone was working at the site before the festival and there was a join in the fence that was left un-clipped so some one could get behind the fence, when they went up there again they saw a man clearing away the tarp leaving load of masking tape at the top. They followed him and he went off site through the production exit near the bit of work. a few hours later someone painted three ninjas on it while the fence was still open.
These were then cleaned off and a padlock was put on the fence (leaving one ninja on the top of the sign). Two more ninjas were back on a day later with the fence locked and full security. These were again cleaned off a few hours later again while there was full security. Security said that they had caught one bloke with a ninja stencil but had let him go as could prove it was him. There were also paste ups from Kid30 behind the fence originally where the Banksy was painted so he must have removed them to do his work.
We also bumped into someone who said they had seen him doing some other work and he had someone with a blow heater helping to fix the paint quicker?

I got a couple of pics with 3 ninja before they got cleaned. The pic is on the blog.
Most of the pics i’ve seen since just show the one ninja on the sign.
