Unplugged link-o-rama

It’s been a while since I did a link-o-rama, but I’m really behind right now and it seems the only way to catch up. I’ve been living in my wifi-less apartment, and I’m headed to London, so these few minutes I’m spending in a cafe may be my only chance for a while to write about a few things…

Martin Whatson in Stavanger

-1

Norwegian artist Martin Whatson just painted these two pieces in Stavanger, Norway to coincide with his solo show at Reed Projects.┬áMartyn Reed, of Reed Projects and Nuart, describes Martin’s work in a way that I really love: “Having seen street art dogged, tagged and generally disabused, Martin Whatson gets in ahead of the crowd by tagging his own stencils to bits.”

The Re-Jects at (the new space) Reed Projects

Brad Downey

Martyn Reed, the man behind Nuart, is finally opening up a gallery space. Reed Projects, like Nuart, will be based in Stavanger, Norway and draw in contemporary artists from the world of street art and beyond. The Re-Jects will be the first show at Reed Project and it features a sampling of artists from past editions of Nuart: Vhils, Dolk, Escif, Evol, Brad Downey, Dan Witz and Roa. Nuart has never come across to me as something done half-assed, so I’m sure Reed Projects will be no different and I can’t wait to see how it develops. The Re-Jects opens this Thursday (7-10pm) and runs through June 22nd.
