“Noxer DOD: The Book of the Dead” is Noxer‘s first solo exhibition, opening on Jan. 18th at Low Brow Artique in Bushwick and curated Jowy Romano of Subway Art Blog. The show is said to be reference an ancient Egyptian aesthetic, which has more recently been an influence on the artist’s street work.
With artworks ranging from the charming to the alarming, Rewriting Portraiture, curated by Rhiannon Platt, features the diverse visions of Jilly Ballistic, Rachel Hays, Vahge & Vexta. Opening this evening from 7 to 10 pm at Bushwick’s Low Brow Artique at 143 Central Ave is Just My Type, an exhibit featuring the work of four Brooklyn-based artists — Gilf!, Dirty Bandits, ND’A and QRST — who utilize typography in their artworks. Ranging from the playful to the poignant in a variety of styles and media, the pieces often amuse and always provoke. Coordinated by Low Brow Artique’s resident curator, Rhiannon Platt, the exhibit continues through October 7th.

Opening this evening from 6-9pm at Bushwick’s stylish Low Brow Artique is You and Me, an intriguing exhibit of collaborative pieces in a range of textures and styles. Curated by Rhiannon Platt, it features works by Cash4 & Smells, OCMC & This Is Awkward, Veng & Sofia Maldonado, Chris & Veng (RWK), EKG & Dark Clouds, Matt Siren & Fenix and Royce Bannon & Russell King, The exhibit continues through September 1 at 143 Central Avenue. Bushwick’s new Low Brow Boutique is a street artist’s and street art lover’s dream. Offering a first-rate selection of aerosol art supplies, it also houses a gallery and store that features a range of artwork in different media by artists whose primary canvas is the streets. The brainchild of Bishop 203 – who’s left his mark for years on everything from freight trains to stickers – Low Brow Boutique officially opens tomorrow Saturday evening at 7 pm at 143 Central Avenue in Bushwick. When we stopped by this afternoon, the Yok, Sheryo and See One were busy gracing its exterior and Rhiannon Platt, who curated the opening exhibit “Welcome to the Neighborhood.” shared some of the artwork with us.
