When I stopped by Klughaus Gallery last week, Jesse Edwards was already at work installing his exhibit, “Dialogue of the Streets.” Featuring an eclectic range of artwork from traditional landscapes to graffiti-inspired ceramics, the exhibit opens this Friday, January 13, from 6-10pm at 47 Monroe Street on Manhattan’s LES/Chinatown. Here are a few favorites I captured (the first depicting the artist with the prolific graffiti writer, Adek):

I think it’s about time I updated you with some new pieces from Basick, so here are a few photos of some recent walls.

Rone is finally back in Melbourne after his trip to the states for Basel Miami, but he didn’t go right home. Instead, he made a few stopovers along the way and put his work up in a few different countries. Here’s some of what he’s been up to since Miami.

Jeff Soto just sent over these photos over from an excursion he went on in Paris. Be sure to click on the images to see a larger version of each one. Here’s what Soto says about the work:
Basically I have a friend who lives in Paris who is an urban explorer and documenter of graffiti. He knew I wanted to paint something illegal and underground and he had this spot in mind. It is an exhaust vent above the Metro line. I was originally going to paint in here, but decided against it when I saw the walls. It was perfect for chalk (which I don’t get to play with much but I love). In the brief hour or two of sleep I got before our mission, I had dreams about eyes, many eyes, so I decided I had to draw eyes all over the room!

It’s another slow week, but things should start to get going again soon. The holidays can’t last forever. Here are bits of news from around the web that didn’t make it into their own post here this week:

From Zeh Palito: The theme of this wall is 생활(Life). I just try to share by the drawing and colors, how life 생활 (Life) can be beautiful. Because here South Korea has one of the highest suicide rates in the world and pressure has been growing for the government to do more to stop the problem. And South Korea gonverment is also suporting famillies to have more then one child, because here society is getting old and few korean population and during this days people dont want to have more then one child.
