From June 9th-27th, Retna‘s Hallelujah World Tour solo show will be in London. The tour began in NYC earlier this year with a bang. Except something just as mad for this show, Retna’s first solo in the UK. Do not miss this, especially if you’ve never seen Retna’s work in person before. The show is taking place at The Old Dairy, 7 Wakefield St, London, WC1N 1PB and will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11am-6pm.

Parts 1-3 of DOTS, a series of films about London’s Burning Candy crew, have just been posted on Babelgum.com. The films follow members of Burning Candy as they travel around the world. So far, Luc Price aka Cyclops has visited India to work with signpainters, Rowdy has traveled to the Australian outback to see ancient wall-painting techniques and graffiti-history obsessed James Jessop saw New York City for the first time. Here are their stories…

In a scene that seems like it is getting more depraved every day (I guess you could blame Los Angeles for that phenomenon), its nice to see someone putting up some quality work in America, let alone Baltimore. I know Vandalog doesn’t usually post about non-street art shows, but the latest at London Miles Gallery off Brick Lane piqued my interest. The show is entitled Guilty Pleasures & Modern Vices, which artists will depict a modern version of the Seven Deadly Sins. The line-up consists of mostly pop surrealists and contemporary modern figurative painters, but among them is INSA. As a fan of his colorful abstracts and hyper realistic portraiture, I am looking forward to see what piece he submits. I’m thinking desire or voyeurism for his theme?
Logan Hicks’ much anticipated solo show at Opera Gallery in NYC opens on Thursday. I saw some of the work for Pretty Ugly while I was in New York recently, and, as always, Logan is a master of technique. You don’t want to miss this show. Here’s a little preview of what to expect…

I’m a fan of Chor Boogie’s artwork– its blazing colors and visual rhythms. Although his style is a bit gimmicky, it works for me. Seeing his work on the streets is always a treat. I stopped by Mallick Williams & Co at 150 11th Avenue in Chelsea to check out its current show Spectrum before it closes tomorrow, as Chor Boogie is one of its featured artists. While still delightful, his artwork’s impact was nowhere as strong as when seen on the streets.

A couple of weeks ago, I had a chance to stop by Clownsoldier‘s studio in New York. After his participation in Up Close and Personal, I realized that Clownsoldier is much more than another artist putting up a logo. Once I saw how much more he did besides the Clownsoldier logo wheatpaste, I had to stop by the studio to check out what he’s been up to. I was not disappointed. His collages, prints and paintings have a unique funkiness to them and I hope to see a lot more…

French graffiti artist KIDULT released this video documenting some of his work on the streets of Paris a few days ago. For thos who aren’t familiar with him, KIDULT uses a fire extinguisher to spray paint on the side of stores. He is concerned with high end luxury brands, like ZEVS, and how hypocritical their place is in a society that predominantly lives under the poverty level.
Fair warning, parts of it are in French which is a bit annoying at times.
