The other day I mentioned the three shows coming up in March at the Carmichael Gallery in LA (Hush, Flip, and Veng). Well here’s a preview image from the Hush show which opens March 5th.

So I guess not checking my email for most of the day was a big mistake.

Steve Powers (aka ESPO) released 2 prints today at Pictures On Walls, which are some of my favorite pieces I’ve seen by him. “Everything Is Shit, Except You Love” comes in two colorways, either cream or black, and they were priced at only £160. Of course, they are both now sold out. Damn.
The up and coming Tel Aviv street artist Klone has been getting busy on a recent trip to London. Since hearing he was in town, I’ve been waiting for his work to appear on flickr. Well guess what! If finally did. Plus, I came across some of his stuff in person during my first trip to Leake street since Cans2. More photos after the jump… Continue reading “Klone Hits Up London”
Each time I see new work from Remi/Rough, I warm up to him a bit more. He’s just posted a few new canvases on flickr, and I think they’re some of his best work yet. I will note though, I’ve seen some pieces of his in person which are much more powerful in person than in jpeg, and some that are the other way around, so I’d be interested to see how these are in person.

Here’s all the info on Street Crush, a show group show opening in NYC tomorrow. Looks like it will be good fun.

I wouldn’t normally have my only post for a day be about a gallery that I’ve never even had the privilage of seeing in person, but I found some exciting news about Carmichael Gallery in LA.
Right now, they have a solo show with Chris Stain on called “Up on The Roof Countin’ Pigeons”, which is cool in its own right.
The shows after that are what I’m particularly excited about though. March 5th sees the opening of solo shows are Carmichael Gallery by Hush, Flip, and Veng. Can’t wait for these.

My favorite street art ‘zine, Very Nearly Almost, is releasing issue 8 next week. The launch party is at Stella Dore, and hopefully this time the power won’t go out (bought my last issue by cell-phone light). I’d be there to get a magazine and Kid Acne t-shirt, but I’ll be in Austria snowboarding all week.
(thanks to Luna Park) I’ve recently discovered Feral, an up and coming street artist mostly working with wheatpasted portraits. I’m digging his use of geometric patterns.

It seems like Shepard Fairey is everywhere lately, so I thought I’d post a summary of all that’s been going on and the relevant links.

Another video for today. This one is a documentary on Keith Haring which, along a whole hour in length, is worth watching every minute of. I came away from it an even bigger fan of his work.
