Video interview with Dain

UPDATE: After watching this video a 2nd time, it has become clear that this is some sort of a hoax see the comments section for details.

The ultra-reclusive Dain has done a video interview with Brooklynite Gallery. I had no idea this guy wasn’t the typical 20-30 year old hipster street artist.

    I think we’re being had here man, they’ve done it really well, but it ain’t him. My guess is that the voice off camera is the artist, the film title “i am dain” the overuse of movement with the handheld camera, the sound affects etc it’s just all a little too contrived to believe.

    Definitely likely after I’ve rewatched the video and thought about it for 2 seconds. The 2nd time I watched this video I noticed the DAIN talks about graffiti in the 1950′s, which is just inaccurate. Besides, DAIN hasn’t been well known for too long and only became popular after rumors that he is BAST’s brother. Seems like anybody working on the street since the 50′s would be better known by now and known for being first.     Also, the film was done by the Brooklynite Gallery, which is a bit weird.

    As a hoax though, it’s kind of artwork. It forces you to challenge preconceptions about the people who do street art. Good work DAIN.

    Yeah, i like how it makes us think, forward wind 30-40 years from now and this could be a video of banksy finaly revealing himself. Anything can happen!!!

    I love his work..I don’t think thought that’s him on the video..
